Mission: To support Monmouth Senior and Community Center activities that achieve senior independence and community well-being.
The Friends of the Monmouth Senior Center, started in 1986, are the Senior and Community Center’s driving force of leadership and volunteers. Center services now include a meals program (6,126 meals annually), exercise classes, educational and cultural workshops, computer lab, travel tours, community gatherings and fundraising events. In recent years the Friends have recruited and coordinated 300 volunteers a year to conduct program and fundraising activities that promote independent living, social networks, group travel, active lifestyles, cultural events and nutrition programs.
Consulting role (2011-2012): Assessed the capital campaign’s status and developed a grants strategy for the renovation and expansion of the existing Senior and Community Center. Developed Memorandum of Understanding between the Friends and City of Monmouth, forged program partnership agreements, identified foundation funding sources, and prepared grant applications.
“Bill provided valuable advice and support to expand our community Senior Center. He inspired us to grow our local fundraising and partnerships, and crafted a grants strategy for our capital campaign. He is competent, capable and easy to work with.”
